FAQs

IS THERE A THEME FOR THE EXHIBITION?

Yes, the entry must have been inspired by the V&A’s or Museum of Childhood’s collections, exhibitions or displays. Students may visit the V&A or Museum of Childhood in person or refer to its websites or catalogues. Inspiration may come from several sources, including objects from different eras, countries or artistic disciplines, but this should be traceable. Students should create original designs and not make copies of museum pieces.

WHAT IS THE MUSEUM NUMBER FOR THE PIECE THAT INSPIRED MY WORK?

This number can be found on the label by each work at the Museums or on the V&A website and Museum of Childhood website.

WHICH CATEGORY SHOULD I CHOOSE ON THE SUBMISSION FORM?

The category to choose will almost always be the same as the medium you are working in; unless you have been inspired by the Museum of Childhood. Then your category will be Museum of Childhood.

CAN I SUBMIT MORE THAN ONE IMAGE OF MY PIECE?

Yes. You must enter at least three and up to five images of your piece which may include preparatory drawings, BUT you can only enter one piece of work.

CAN I SUBMIT WORK AS PART OF A GROUP/CLASS
